As proof of the consumer’s appetite for these new appliances, Krups sold 1 million of these grinders in their first year of manufacture. In 1983 Krups launches its first espresso machine, later extending its range of machines: combination espresso/coffee machines, steam machines and electronically programmable models. 1991 a join venture with established with Nestlé to produce the Krups Nespresso machine, an expresso system using coffee pods.
